The Wave of Music

The Wave of Music

This is my artist rendition of The Great Wave.

(The Great Wave off Kanagawa, also known as The Great Wave, otherwise known as, The Wave, is a woodblock print by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai. It was published sometime between 1829 and 1833 in the late Edo period as the first print in Hokusai's series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. Wikipedia

Artist: Hokusai)

I created this to get out of my comfort zone as I prefer pen, ink & graphite; this was a huge challenge with me being truly pleased with the results.

Using oils on a 16" X 12" canvas panel, I painted this in my style and added music notes to the seafoam, titling it The Wave of Music.

I have it nicely framed in a weathered gray and ready to hang.
